Japanese crypto exchange DMM Bitcoin announced that approximately $300 million worth of Bitcoin has disappeared due to what they described as an "unauthorized leak" from their digital wallet. Although DMM Bitcoin has not provided detailed information about the incident, global cryptocurrency analysis company Chainalysis stated that this attack is one of the largest crypto attacks. In a post on social media platform X, Chainalysis said, "The hack attack on Japanese exchange DMM Bitcoin is the largest since December 2022 and the 7th largest crypto hack to date."
AMOUNT OF STOLEN BITCOIN
DMM Bitcoin stated that the amount stolen is approximately 48.2 billion yen (300 million dollars), which is equivalent to 4,502.9 bitcoins. The company announced that all of their customers' Bitcoin deposits will be fully secured.

According to a report by the Nikkei newspaper, Japan's Financial Services Agency has instructed DMM Bitcoin to investigate the cause of the incident and protect customers from losses. Additionally, Japanese police have also started a detailed investigation into the incident.
